A Natural and Fuss-Free Guide to Reaching Your Goal Weight

If you are currently on a struggle to reach your ideal weight, you’re not alone.  Weight gain… body image issues… we’ve all (or maybe not all) been there before.

If you want to lose weight, there are a number of NATURAL ways to shed off those extra pounds.

Whether this is your first time or your hundredth attempt to begin your weight loss journey, stay away from those “shortcuts” that I admit, can be really tempting. 

But don’t get me wrong.  I’m not here to promote a specific diet, an exercise program or supplements to take though.  I’m just here to share with you a few healthy, no-fuss and natural approaches to reach that goal weight of yours.

Let’s begin.

Set realistic expectations.

First things first, weight loss is a gradual process – it doesn’t happen overnight.  So throw those unrealistic expectations out of the window because it’ll just pull you down eventually.  Set realistic weight loss goals – not just an outcome goal, but process goals too.  Your change of habits will be the key to your weight loss journey.

Plan ahead.

Whether it’s your workout or meals, planning ahead will help you achieve your goals easily.  Remember, a goal without a plan is just a wish.  Depending on which diet or type of work-out you will be doing, always plan ahead.

Meal planning/prep is a very helpful step in any kind of diet.  Having healthy meals ready will prevent you from making those unhealthy food choices when dealing with hunger – fast-food take outs, frozen dinners, you know the drill.

Get moving.

Aside from your choice of workout, make sure to squeeze in more movements in your typical day.  Park a little farther so you can walk more.  Choose the stairs instead of the elevator.  These little things can definitely help you burn those calories.

Eat every two-three hours.

This may sound like a broken record but again, never skip meals.  Starving yourself won’t make you lose weight faster.  Putting yourself on starvation mode will just slow down your metabolism and affect hormones and insulin levels that can cause unhealthy food choices and weight gain.  That’s why it’s advised to eat three meals and two snacks in between to prevent hunger pangs.

Find simple ways to cut calories.

Cutting calories isn’t the ultimate solution to losing weight but it does help a lot.  A simple act of swapping your soda for water or pasta for spaghetti squash can help big time.

Keep track of your weight loss journey.

Use an app or go old-school with a journal and pen.  Tracking your food intake or work-outs, your goals and your milestones, will help you see where you’re at in your weight loss journey.

Celebrate every milestone.

Remember tip number 1?  “Set realistic weight loss goals.”  As you work your way to achieving each goal you’ve created, make sure to celebrate every milestone and victory. Nope – not with an unhealthy treat!  Hmm, maybe a massage, a pedicure or a new work-out gear.

Losing weight is a long journey but for you to achieve that, believe in yourself and just keep on going.
